Don’t miss your chance to hear two amazing performers, together at Prescott Coffee Roasters, 318 W. Gurley Street, Prescott, Thursday, July 19th, 7:30 p.m. This evening of poetry and sudden fiction features Flag Slam sensation Logan Phillips and award-winning playwright Micki Shelton, performing original works that will knock your socks off.

Logan Phillips is a bilingual writer, poet and performer originally from the Arizona-Mexico borderlands, born in Tombstone in 1983. It has been a long time since Logan performed in Prescott. Don’t miss this night!

A veteran of the American poetry slam movement, Logan has competed in four National Poetry Slams, finishing 20th out of more than 350 performers in 2004. His work has been featured on the Spanish language television network Univision 33 Phoenix, Mundo TV Cuernavaca and KSFR Santa Fe among others. In 2005 he graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Spanglish Linguistics. Since then, he has toured his native Southwest from one corner to the other and performed as widely as Paris and Mexico City.

Micki’s work has been described as touching, compelling, and *&%$*# brilliant. Her plays have been performed at The Marsh and The Playwright’s Center, both in San Francisco; City Lights Theatre Company in San Jose; included in South Coast Repertory’s Professional Conservatory in Orange County, California, and produced here in Prescott by Arizona Classical Theater. Recently two of her plays were included in the Pandora Festival in Scottsdale. One Bay Area fan described her work as “Some of the sharpest, wittiest dialogue I’ve seen in a while. The whole thing was striking and hilariously funny.”

On the 19th, Micki will be reading short stories that run the gamut from the sublime to the hilarious. Logan will perform his spectacular poetry. Don’t miss this chance to hear two amazing performers, together. Strong language and adult themes. Under 18 admitted only with parental permission.
