What can the garden teach us about poetry? How might poetry help us articulate what it means to be an earthworker, someone who cares for the earth and all that it gives?
Join Tucson Poet Laureate (and self-described “plant nerd”) Logan Phillips for a playful exploration of writing, sensory awareness, and collaboration with the more-than-human world. No experience necessary!
Together we will read poems from Aimee Nezhukumatathil and Camille Dungy, learn techniques to unlock the healing power of writing, and build creative community. We’ll come away with our own poetic sketches (first drafts) and a new understanding of why you can take the poet out of the garden – but never the garden out of the poet!
